As many parents already know, kids continue to improve and develop each year as they get older. And through these developmental stages, they achieve many wonderful milestones–sometimes, even before they reach the age of five. One example of this is a 3-year-old child who is learning to say his/her name, tell stories, and know how to play alone.
We’ve seen thousands of these accomplishments posted online. In fact, some kids even get pulled into internet stardom because of it. Case in point, the newest three-year-old star of the video-sharing platform TikTok, named Gavin, who became popular because of his larger-than-average size–which is 43 inches tall, the average height of a 5-year-old .
In an interview with Buzzfeed, Gavin’s mother Kathryn revealed that when she gave birth to her son, he was of average weight and height at 6 pounds and 19 inches long respectively. But when the toddler reached three-years-old, his height went “off the charts”.
Gavin is now dubbed as the “Big Baby” after Kathryn posted a video of her kid bouncing on top of his dad’s back over the beat of “Woah” by KRYPTO9095. And as if on cue, powder puffs out from his freshly-changed diapers.
As of this writing, the said video has garnered 14.8 million views, 1.3 million likes, and 70,000 comments.
Gavin’s extraordinary tallness appears to run in the family, as his dad is 5’10 while his mom is 5’8. He also has a 16-year-old brother who loves to play with him on their farm located in America’s Midwest. Moreover, Insider reported that the “tall genes” also come from Gavin’s great-uncles who are mostly six-footers.
According to Kathryn, many people who watched Gavin’s video have sent positive feedback. However, there were still some who gave rude comments about Gavin’s size and appearance.
Despite these hateful remarks, she doesn’t plan to stop sharing her kid’s videos, as she believes that her son “brought a lot of joy to people”.
