Social media users express concern over scared women in excavator stunt for Guinness Record

A post by Guinness World Records on the record for the ‘fastest time to remove a cap using an excavator’ is drawing attention online, but mainly out of concern for an element within the record-breaking stunt.

As seen in the video, Zhu Fei from China made his attempt to make a record managing to remove 6 caps using an excavator in 21 seconds on the set of CCTV – Guinness World Records Special in Beijing, China, beating his opponent’s time of 28 seconds.

In the following clip, he was given a minute to remove as many caps as he could from the Italian TV show “Lo Show Dei Record” in Monaza Italy, and he managed to do it with fifteen. Before this, the record was 11 hats.

Zhu is an experienced operator who can accomplish a dozen of tasks with the excavation machine, including slicing a watermelon, counting banknotes, preparing a sandwich, and shooting a basketball.

Upon seing the video, social media users have expressed their concern for the women who were involved in the stunt.

One user wrote, “What sort of record breaking is this? There’s a huge difference between intentionally exposing people to risk and breaking the world’s record. We should discourage such risk exposure at all costs.”

Another user wrote, “Should have used mannequins. No need to prove skills by endangering someone else’s lives. A sudden slip might crush those girls.”

“There should be dummies instead of real persons for the sake of safety.…”, a third user wrote.

Several social media users took to the comments to share their thoughts with some of them pointing out that the women who were involved in the stunt looked so terrified as it is evident that there is horror in their eyes.
