Today, we notice that most posters, clothes, foods, and cosmetics that we see are foreign. We rarely see real and original Filipino products or posters being advertised. This is very alarming and yet we have accepted it as a norm. And so we want to bring back our own Filipino pride and products, from food to music and talent. This is why we bring you, TAKIPSILIM.
The De La Salle University – Economics Organization’s TAKIPSILIM is a music festival and advocacy event created through a shared passion for local art. Through it, we aim to celebrate the diversity of the Filipino spirit by highlighting our own people’s talents, craft, and products. TAKIPSILIM uplifts Filipino art, craft, and enterprise. Through it, the organizers wish to communicate to the public through stories of talented artists that have yet to be discovered and spark the sense of pride of one’s own by supporting local entrepreneurs in their pursuit of providing various forms of goods and entertainment. This event also serves as a fundraising activity for our beneficiary, the students of the Alternative Learning System (ALS) through the Economics Scholarship Program (ESP).
Bands and performers that embody the Filipino pride and will be performing in the event are Nadia Rodriguez, YoungSleepyBoi, Devices, Majam Sisters, One Click Straight, Lola Amour, Banna Harbera, and Tom’s Story. The event is brought to you by John Robert Powers, INQUIRER.NET and InqPOP, Magic 89.9, WhenInManila.com, Pepsi, and many more.
It is truly challenging to keep our products high among all the renowned products from different countries. If we ourselves do not feel proud or close to our own, who else will? So let us all bring back that Filipino Pride within us on July 22, 2017 at the Landscape Area Filinvest Tent, Alabang.
Admission is free! Raffle ticket sells at P50 only. See you there!
