Filipino folk-pop band Ben&Ben officially released a statement regarding an issue from 2022, making things clear about the accusations made by Tanya Markova.
During former Vice President Leni Robredo’s Camanava Grand Rally on March 26, 2022, Tanya Markova was supposed to perform first before the folk-pop band.
In an issued statement through their Facebook page, they wrote, “We would like to put an end to the accusations constantly being made, further insinuated by a guesting of Tanya Markova, on the podcast of Koolpals.”
The band mentioned that it was not their intention to sideline other artists during the Camanava Grand rally. Moreover, they went on to explain what happened during the event and wrote, “It was the responsibility of the organizers to take accountability for the logistical mishaps of the said event. The band itself was also a victim of unforeseen delays, as with Tanya Markova and the other groups.”
In addition, they are extending their efforts to all the impacted performers, not only Tanya Markova. They ended their statement in high hopes for the truth to come out and wrote, “In all of this, we hope this finally brings truth out, holds the right parties accountable.”
The aforementioned issue was recently brought up with their performance at an event at FEU Diliman last August 17. It was alleged that the band was mostly to blame for other musicians being left out of the event and unable to play.
This said scenario seems to bear resemblance to what occurred at the Camanava Grand Rally back in 2022.
In the Koolpals podcast, Tanya Markova mentioned that Ben&Ben went on stage before their supposed schedule which led to changes in the order of performers.
The rock band also mentioned that while several other rock bands were unhappy with the said change, they also stated that they were the only band who were willing to speak up.
Tanya Markova has not yet responded to the current statement made by Ben&Ben as of this writing.
