Viral phallic-looking lamp turns on green minds on Twitter

A phallic lamp is making a bang on the internet for the wrong reason.

It all started when Twitter user @tyler_posting posted a short video clip of a lamp that looks like an uncircumcised penis. His post garnered 10.7 million views as of writing and is continuously making rounds on Twitter.

Few have raised eyebrows on this viral penis lamp, but some are hilariously poking fun at it.

To turn on the lamp, you simply take a grip on it and drag the outer layer covering down the length of the shaft. Switching it on requires a specific gesture that resembles a sexual act that makes the internet roll over the floor.

In case you are wondering, the lamp is named Love in Light, created by an anonymous London-based artist, also known as Monsby.

In a now-edited post on his website, Monsby wrote, “It had different names during that period: Phallamp, Lampenis, etc.” He later decided to make the name a little less phallocentric.

“After all, the main idea of this lamp is not in the similarity with the penis, although, of course, it is funny. It is about love, light, and life. The most meaningful and optimistic lamp ever,” said the description posted on his website.

According to the creator, one item of this phallic lamp is on its way to the Design Museum.

Even for its ridiculous price of £3,500 (Php 242,382.61), someone will be tempted to get their hands on this limited-edition lamp because there are only 50 of them available on the market. One lamp can also be purchased as an NFT.
