As part of the Civil Engineering community, the Civil Engineering Society (CES) of De La Salle University- Manila presents its annual academic and research flagship event, “CE FOCUS 2020: RESILIENCE ENGINEERING SYMPOSIUM.” CE Focus 2020 is a half-day event where notable and experienced speakers from the academe and industry are featured. This year’s theme tackles resiliency, which aims to discuss alternatives for the infrastructures withstanding phenomena with minimal impact on its efficiency and effectiveness. The event also intends to put awareness and to differentiate the challenges that civil engineers from different specializations may encounter. Resilience Engineering Symposium hopes to mold resilient civil engineers who are able to overcome future challenges. Resilience prepares civil engineers to not only survive but thrive during times of crisis. Being resilient means having the capability to recognize current problems and to form innovative solutions for them.
CES takes pride in this year’s CE Focus as students from various institutions in the Philippines partake in this flagship event as they listen to some of the top industry professionals, which will tackle timely and significant topics in the field of Civil Engineering.
