Charlie Puth has had enough.
The American singer and songwriter took to Twitter to address the recent spamming of BTS fans on some of his Tiktok posts.
He started the thread with “I don’t usually pay any mind to things like this, but something has to be said. This dangerous, toxic, internet screaming match between ‘fandoms’ has to stop. I’m 28 years old, so it doesn’t really mean anything to me when some person I don’t know writes a nasty message to me…”

Fans of the k-pop group, more popularly known as BTS ARMY, recently flooded Puth’s Tiktok posts with numerous comments accusing the singer of using BTS member Jeon Jungkook to advance his personal career.
The fans were referring to Puth’s duet performance with the BTS member of the song “We Don’t Talk Anymore” in the MBC Plus X Genie Music Awards, which happened in 2018.
In his post, Puth said that he doesn’t understand what the ARMY meant with ‘I used BTS for clout’ but noted that he adores the group and that they are “super talented.”
He goes on to say that had he received such negative messages a decade ago, he would have reacted very differently: “But what I do know is that 10 years ago, language like this directed towards me would’ve affected me deeply in a very negative way. And I’m thinking about all the other younger kids on twitter seeing stuff like this on a daily basis.”

That being said, Puth ends the thread with a request to just be nicer to each other.
“It may sound cliche, but please be nicer to each other on here. No more screaming about made up nonsense. It does nobody any good. We all need to love each other MORE THAN EVER RIGHT NOW.”
