Riverdale cast members call foul over sexual allegations on Twitter

Twitterverse was in mayhem recently after “dubious” sexual allegations were posted all within the same day against four Riverdale actors—Cole Sprouse, Vanessa Morgan, Lili Reinhart, and KJ Apa.

The allegation on Sprouse, in particular, by a newly set up Twitter account was talking about a story that supposedly happened several years ago.

The other allegations over the other cast members have since been taken down, but not before Twitter user @sprousecabello was able to screenshot the tweets.

Sprouse addressed the issue immediately, saying that he is taking “these accusations very seriously” and that he “will be working with the right teams to get to the root of it.”

“False accusations do tremendous damage to victims of actual assault. Furthermore, I would never seek to silence anybody. I encourage that people look into the accusations themselves, as the events detailed were factually untrue,” the actor said in the thread. “This seems to be the latest claim in a series of incidents seeking to baselessly cancel my cast mates and me.”

Reinhart retweeted Sprouse’s post, and made her own thread as well.

“I have always taken sexual assault allegations seriously. But it was proven that this account was created specifically to create false stories about me and my cast.  I can’t think of something more twisted than lying about sexual assault. It invalidates the men and women who are-,” Reinhart said.

Fans went on a Twitter spree, showing support for the actors over the seemingly obvious false accusations.

This cancel culture on Twitter is becoming so toxic already, TBH.
