‘I Need More Beer’: 93-year-old woman holding a sign to ask for beer is our new internet grandma

While staying at home is the best thing we can do right now to help prevent the further spread of coronavirus, there are days that we can’t help but miss all the things we used to do outside. The things we used to take for granted before this global pandemic took over our lives. For some, going out with friends for a drink is one of the things they’d do once “this sh*t is over”.

Whether you admit it or not, we all cope differently and there are days that could’ve been much better if we’re chugging down a beer at home.

Olive Veronesi, a 93-year-old woman from Seminole, Pennsylvania, is one of those people who can’t seem to let go of her close relationship with beer while under isolation. Due to her age and the local advisory to stay at home, Veronesi faced a dilemma of having an insufficient supply of beer. Good thing, she found an ingenious way to ask for more.

A relative took a photo of Veronesi holding a sign that reads “I NEED MORE BEER!!” with a can of beer in hand. The photo that was shared online quickly became viral with people saying that they have found their “spirit animal” in her and wished they could send her several cases of beer.

In an interview with KDKA, Olive talked about her love of beer. “I have a beer every night! I’ve got some in now, do you want one?” she shared with the reporter.  “Something to relax, you know? I think it’s nice – something for a young lady,” referring and pointing to herself with a smile.

Life is too short for us not to live it fully while we can so we’re hoping this grandma will get enough supply of beer she needs to help her get through this pandemic. And when she does, let’s all cheers to that!
