In just a matter of ten months after storming the K-Pop scene as the newest girl group to watch out for, ITZY will be making their way to Manila to throw a party like no other for their Filipino MIDZY!
Proving their power rookie status, the five-member girl group is already heading out for their first- ever premiere showcase tour which will take them to a total of 11 cities all over Asia and North America. For the very first time, PULP Live World excitedly sets out to welcome Yeji, Lia, Ryujin, Chaeryeong, and Yuna to the Philippines and make them feel the warm love of their Filipino fans through ITZY PREMIERE SHOWCASE TOUR ‘ITZY? ITZY!’ IN MANILA. The show takes place on December 8, 2019, 7PM at the New Frontier Theatre, Cubao.
ITZY created a huge buzz online after JYP Entertainment announced in January 2019 that they will be debuting a new girl group – four years after TWICE successfully won hearts in 2015. The hype for the K-Pop scene’s newest princesses continued until the label officially revealed the identities of the five young and lovely ladies comprising the group through exciting video trailers.
Finally, on February 12, 2019, the quintet made their grand entrance into the music industry with their debut single album It’z Different. It was headlined by the hit track “Dalla Dalla,” whose catchy EDM rhythm and empowering lyrics successfully landed ITZY the biggest Billboard debut for a new K-Pop act in years, entering its charts immediately at the number two spot.
The success of “Dalla Dalla” also continued up to its music video, which was confirmed to have surpassed 17.1 million views within 24 hours of its release. This achievement by the group broke the record for the most viewed K-Pop debut music video within 24 hours. Nine days after their debut, ITZY were also able to take home their first music show win on M Countdown, making them the fastest girl group to achieve their first music show win.
Five months after the success of It’z Different, ITZY made a speedy return with their first mini- album. Titled It’z Icy, their new record was released on July 29, 2019, spearheaded by the single titled “Icy.”
With two successful album releases and recognitions like the 2019 Genie Music Awards’ Female New Artist, the 2019 Soribada Best K-Music Awards’ Rookie Award, and the 2019 Brand of the Year Awards’ Female Rookie Idol of the Year to their name, ITZY are setting out to close the year with a bang through their upcoming showcase.
