Everyone who travels knows that every trip is driven by a different objective. Some adventures may be taken to celebrate something personal like a family affair while others simply do it for leisure. Whatever your reason may be for traveling, one thing’s for sure–we always come out more experienced and more knowledgeable than before.
In this case, Pinay traveler Jalaine Joyce V. Malabanan felt a bit more fulfilled after finishing her trip to Japan with a series of photos recreating the scenes from the animated movie, “Your Name.”
Check out her comparison of the film and her recreated pictures:
When asked by InqPOP! what her reason was for reenacting the scenes during her Japan trip, Malabanan says, “It was simply an attempt to have fun and explore places in Japan.” And being a fan of the film, she couldn’t help but take this opportunity to recreate some of the movie’s iconic scenes.
“If there’s anything that makes ‘Your Name’ different and/or special, that would be its emotional appeal—a kind that connects people to having faith with destiny and a love that transcends the boundaries of time and space,” she explains.
However, Malabanan says recreating these photos was no easy task. In fact, it took her hours to complete many of the scenes.
“It’s a long walk and I think it took us over an hour to do the recreated photos. My advantage is, my sister has gone ahead of us and showed us where the places are located. But if you will religiously follow the pilgrimage, I guess it may take as long as 4-5 hours, especially when you are unfamiliar with the place,” she tells us.
It seems like their hard work has paid off because these photos are strikingly similar to that of the movie. And we’re pretty sure that Makoto Shinkai would be amazed by these pictures! Here’s to hoping Malabanan recreates other anime shows or movies.
