Synapse 2018: The upcoming hackathon hosted for the first time by a medical school organization in the PH

Similar to how a synapse is the site of communication between two neurons where electric nerve signals can be transmitted, a hackathon is an avenue of collaboration and creation of innovative solutions.

Synapse 2018 is organized by the UP Medical Students for Social Responsibility – International Physicians for the Prevention of Nuclear War (MSSR-IPPNW or MSSR), together with HealthHacks PH. As an organization of medical students for the promotion of advocacies that address the different facets of health, the event is being held with the aim to bring modern healthcare solutions to the communities.

A hackathon allows its participants to learn from guest speakers, workshops, and mentoring activities to help them build on their own ideas and develop a prototype of an innovative solution for current problems.

Open to all Senior High School and University students, each member of a group gets to take on a specific role, explained here: https://tinyurl.com/Synapse2018Roles.

Synapse 2018 will be held from October 27-28, 2018 (Saturday and Sunday) at the Globe Tower, 32nd Street corner 7th Avenue, Bonifacio Global City, Taguig City.

Registration is open to both individuals and formed teams and has been extended until October 14. This can be accomplished at https://tinyurl.com/Synapse2018Registration with the payment of the Php 350 fee.

More information can be found at https://tinyurl.com/Synapse2018FAQs or https://www.facebook.com/healthhacksph/.

Synapse 2018 is co-presented by Globe Labs and sponsored by mClinica, Generika, and Social Innovation for Health Initiative – Philippines.
