Gamma Sigma Sorority holds the fourth installment of Eros: Hook-Up on Friday, Sept. 28, to bring yet again, UPLB’s most anticipated college party. The mentioned event will take place at Roma Vita Resorts in Calamba, Laguna.

Behind the name
In the Theogony of Hesiod (fl. 700 BCE), Eros was a primeval god, son of Chaos but was later, in tradition, made the son of Aphrodite, goddess of sexual love and beauty.
In Greek mythology, he was a god not simply of passion but fertility. In archaic art he was presented as a winged youth always made younger until the Hellenistic period.
In the classical world, erotic love was generally referred to as a kind of madness or theia mania (“madness from the gods”). Eros was a kind of love passion we wanted to personify shown by the source of the arrows that was said to be the image of the beautiful love object itself.
If these arrows were to arrive at the lover’s eyes, they would then travel to and ‘pierce’ or ‘wound’ his or her heart and overwhelm him/her with desire and longing (lovesickness)—hence giving the flavor of our party as unforgettable and one-of-a-kind.
The drive
Supporting the purpose and goals of Autism Society Philippines (ASP) Laguna Chapter is the primary goal of the party as a benefactor. This is aligned with our objective that is: to promote constructive activities with other organizations to enhance the general welfare inside our community, Laguna.
The ASP is a national, non-profit organization dedicated to the well-being of persons with autism spectrum disorder. The ASP is comprised of families, teachers, therapists, institutions and other individuals whose lives have been touched by autism and has been in the forefront of providing services to families affected with autism. It has grown since 1989, to 10,000 members, with 63 chapters all over the country (as of April 2013).
Portrayed as deviant often of primal yearning, love, and desire, our new playful Eros 2018 projects the impulses and modes from worldly spheres entering the relations of men. This year’s Hook-Up is all about turning our heads; opening our eyes; and asking for more. Bringing the best yet, the biggest, the wildest—party like the gods—on Eros.
