Jake Zyrus owned the stage again during his “Music & Me” concert at the SM North EDSA Skydome last Friday, May 30. After transitioning to a new persona, the world renowned singer took his fans back to his musical journey and performed for a one-night concert celebrating both his birthday and his 10 years in the industry.
With special guests Kyla, Iñigo Pascual, Jessica Sanchez, and surprise appearance from KZ Tandingan, Jake performed songs from different genres that inspired him throughout his musical career. Jake sang and danced to the beats of Bruno Mars’ “Finesse,” covered Ed Sheeran’s “Dive” and John Legend’s “All of Me,” jazzed to songs like “Can’t Take My Eyes Off You,” and rocked on to Nirvana songs.
During the R&B segment of his show, Queen of R&B Kyla joined him onstage for a duet. Iñigo also showed up and sang Justin Bieber’s “What Do You Mean” as well as his hit single “Dahil Sa’yo.”
After 3 years, Jessica Sanchez performed in the country again and expressed her gratitude to Jake for having her in his concert. Jake talked about how the two of them have been friends for a long time despite only performing for the first time together that night. The two took everyone to heaven with their rendition of “The Prayer.”
Jake also showed his love for OPM through songs like Moira Dela Torre’s “Malaya,” “Himala,” “Kailan,” and performed his latest single “DNM.”
