Calum Scott shares what it’s like to be ‘Only Human’ in his debut album

One of the hardest things to do is to completely be honest about who you are and what you feel. It takes courage—a lot of courage—to tell the world who you really are and what you are feeling at the moment. But despite how difficult and scary it is, it is the most liberating thing to do.

And this is exactly what Britain’s Got Talent’s Calum Scott did in his debut album called Only Human.

During the press conference last March 4 at the Edsa Shangri-La Mall, Scott shared how his debut album is all about life. He knows that we have felt happy, sad, loved, and heartbroken. And through this album, he wanted to write songs that are from the heart and that will resonate with people. The only way he can do that is to share and talk about who he is and just be completely honest.

“I wrote this album with the intention of connecting to people all around the world using my own personal experiences, hoping that if I can inspire one person to be happy being themselves, bring some comfort or just make someone smile with my music, then all my experiences have been worthwhile,” said Scott.

After all, Scott only wanted to be remembered as a person who wants to make a difference. And it seems that he isn’t far from making a difference. He was honored with the Gold award by MCA Music Inc., executives at the press conference just minutes before his exclusive live performance.

Scott rose to fame for his rendition of Robyn’s Dancing On My Own that eventually led him to quitting his day job and writing his own material. That is why he encourages his fans to go and pursue what they have always been passionate about: “If you feel passionate about something—chase your dreams because they do come true.”

You can now grab a copy of his debut album, Only Human, which was officially released last March 9.
