For 37 years, the UPLB Statistical Society, a duly recognized academic organization in the University of the Philippines Los Baños, has committed itself to the pursuit of academic and professional excellence. The organization continues to work towards its goal of advancing and promoting proper application of statistics in all fields of learning endeavors. Though an academic organization, UPLB STATS does not set its limit in developing academic excellence among its members. As a matter of fact, STATS was recently recognized in the 27th National Statistics Month Awards as the Best Youth Advocate for Statistics.
Now on its 12th year, the organization’s annual activity, Estadistika, will once again be conducted. Estadistika is an invitational statistics quiz, poster-making, essay- writing, and photo contest, which aims to promote intellectual growth in statistics among the youth and appreciation of the use of statistics in various fields.
It will be participated by students from public and private high schools in Region III (Central Luzon), Region IV-A CALABARZON, and National Capital Region (NCR).
Estadistika 2018 will be held on the 19th of February 2018, from 8 AM to 6 PM at the University of the Philippines Los Baños, Laguna, with the theme “STATe of the Nation: Analyzing Justice System and Security Issues through Statistics”.
