As Valentine’s Day draws near, businesses are at the top of their game to come up with gimmicks and marketing stunts for one of the most merchandisable holidays every year. Flowers, chocolates, and stuffed toys are cliché but they’re still the top choices of people as Valentine’s Day gifts.
But if you want to go for an extraordinary Valentine’s Day gift and still be the romantic that you are, how about you give “your heart” to your special someone? And by heart, we mean these creepy-looking realistic heart chocolates!
Katherine Dey, an artist from New York, makes hyperrealistic custom cakes and novelty chocolates that are quite incredibly detailed. For the month of love, she decided to make realistic-looking anatomical heart chocolates so people can, well, feel like they’re giving their heart to someone they love on Valentine’s Day.
Though it looks like an actual heart carved out of someone’s chest, it’s actually white chocolate with strawberry ganache.
Dey also makes a “slightly larger than life size” heart cake that’s made of two layers of red velvet cake with chocolate buttercream.
