The quote aptly describes the “MusiKARAMAY Basketball 3×3 Para sa Marawi”, an official 3×3 FIBA-endorsed event that took place at the Cuneta Astrodome last November 6, 2017.
The event, which was was organized by Triple Threat Manila, was attended by over 250 people to help our brothers and sisters from Marawi to rebuild their homes and their lives through the Alagang Kapatid Foundation.
OPM artists like South Border, Climax, Rocksteddy, Jason Fernandez, Aikee, Davey Langit, Nyoy Volante, and The Juans and Mike Swift were also present during the tournament.
MusiKARAMAY, founded by Stanley Seludo, is a community of musicians which aims to create a new league of real life superheroes by using their talents to help other people. MusiKARAMAY Basketball 3×3 Para sa Marawi aimed to use the sport to relive the spirit of “bayanihan”.
The tip-off was graced by professional PBA player Danny Seigle together with the founder of MusiKARAMAY. Kriza Cawan, founder of Triple Threat Manila, announced that the event would the country’s ranking in the 3×3 basketball world map since it was endorsed by FIBA. President and CEO of Healthwell Nutraceuticals Inc. Paulo Legaspi, a major partner that helped bring the event to fruition, delivered the welcome remarks and Menchie Silvestre spoke about the partnership of MusiKARAMAY and Alagang Kapatid Foundation before leading the crowd in a solidarity chant of “Bangon Marawi”.

The tournament also featured side events like the Globe 3-point shoot-out and the Kambi Slam Dunk Contest powered by Wilson. The lowered-rim slam dunk edition was judged by icons in the basketball industry like Coach Pido Jarencio (a former PBA professional player), Coach Richard del Rosario (assistant coach of Ginebra Kings), and Mac Baracael and Bradwyn Guinto (professional players in the PBA).
Jergen Millena bagged the Globe 3-point shoot-out title and Roy Cayanan reigned as the Champion of Kambi Slam Dunk Contest. For the main event of the tournament, Royal MNL Fitness won the championship over Globe Musikaramay with a 3-point lead.
Stanley Seludo was awarded as Musician’s MVP garnering 24 points, 9 rebounds, and 1 assist. And the Tournament MVP title was brought home by Roy Cayanan finishing with an astonishing 45 points, 15 rebounds and 1 assist.
One of the musician players, Matt Villanueva, said “What I like most is that we helped our brothers and sisters in Marawi at the same time we did enjoy the camaraderie [among participants]”.

MusiKARAMAY aims to launch MusiKARAMAY Basketball 3×3 Para sa Marawi, Season 2 a few months from now. “It will be a long rebuilding process for Marawi City, so we intend to raise more funds for them from here on and in the coming years”, Stanley Seludo said.
