In case you haven’t heard, Mercury isn’t the only planet that experiences retrograde—Mars does too.
The Mars retrograde will be the “most intense” astrological time of the year from December 2024 and will last up until February 2025.
Mars will go retrograde from December 6, 2024, to February 23, 2025, beginning in Leo (until January 6) and ending in Cancer (until February 23).
In an interview with TODAY.com, Joel Meyers, an associate professor of physics at Southern Methodist University, describes retrogrades as an “observational phenomenon whereby a planet appears to ‘reverse course’ in its motion across the sky against the background of fixed stars.”
He claims that this results from a “change in our perspective as the Earth revolves around the Sun in its annual motion,” rather than from a change in motion of the planet, in this instance Mars.
Retrogrades are thought to have an impact on the realm that a planet governs in astrology. Mars is deemed to be an aggressive and active planet.
Curious about how your sign might be impacted by the Mars retrograde? Continue reading to find out what to anticipate.
Aries
There may be times when you exaggerate and weave your tale. Avoid allowing presumptions to overshadow life and reality. If at all possible, try to tone down your attitude and be aware of how you come across.
Taurus
This is the perfect moment to spend some time for yourself. You need a moment to escape the drama that others are pouring onto you. Being “unbothered” should be your mantra this Mars retrograde.
Gemini
In the end, you don’t have to give an explanation to anyone. Know that it is more about them than it is about you if people start to doubt your intentions. Stay silent in order to avoid trouble and regain control.
Cancer
The boost you were hoping for at work is taking a long time to materialize. Make sure you understand that it will be better for you to approach the matter diplomatically rather than emotionally before you explode.
Leo
In a nutshell: You have too much on your plate and not enough time. Give up control of certain tasks for your own sake. Assign them to others or seek out short-term help. People will gladly aid you if you recognize when you’re at your breaking point and require help.
Virgo
It will be difficult to control your emotions during Mars retrograde, even though you don’t often do so. It will feel good to let go of the feelings you’ve been holding inside for months, and journaling and talking things through with friends can help you keep your mind, heart, and spirit in balance.
Libra
Conflict may arise from repressed feelings in your friend group, and you, as the peacekeeper, may end up in the middle. Avoid becoming overly involved. Despite the ongoing tension, use a diplomatic approach.
Scorpio
You may have downtime if the career moves you had been planning don’t work out right away. Make the most of the ezra time by planning strategies to improve your standing. Small adjustments will serve as inspiration.
Sagittarius
Most of the time, you’re prepared to board a plane and travel wherever the wind takes you. You are more inclined to exercise caution and reconsider your snap judgments these days. Before diving in, it’s acceptable to test the waters. That’s not a symptom of boredom, but of maturity.
Aquarius
You are completely devoted to your partner, but you don’t feel like showing it off with romantic messages or elaborate dinners. Being there is the only thing that counts. If you comfort your crush or significant other with unending support and active listening, the rest is irrelevant.
Pisces
Refrain from accepting everything. Instead of committing to social gatherings, business meetings, and hangouts, you might want to play it by ear. Keep an eye on your energy levels and then adopt the behavior that feels suitable for you at the moment.
