Bonifacio Global City (BGC) announced via a Facebook post on Wednesday that the whole Fort Strip block will be indefinitely closed beginning January 1, 2025.
The Fort Strip is a popular district and one of the early entertainment hubs in the area. It is known for its diverse range of bars, restaurants, and nightclubs, making it a vibrant nightlife destination.
The heartfelt post of BGC said until the closure of The Fort at the beginning of the new year, people are free to hang around at The Strip.
“This is goodbye for now but not forever. We’ll be back. Better than you remember, and better than you can imagine,” BGC wrote.
Social media users shared their great experiences and opinions on the comment section of the post.
“Don’t demolish that tower, we love retro buildings, the sight of that tower alone brings back memories for so many people, don’t destroy the tower just for another condo, so many new buildings for the price of memories destroyed✨️,” a social media user said.
Another social media user said, “So many memories were created there. It will surely be missed. Embassy, Cuisine, Prince of Jaipur, Amber.. those good old days.”
“I felt this coming. Bye The Fort, one of the BGC icons since I started my job as a young professional. So are the good memories. Since 2013 😭,” a third Facebook commenter said.
As of now, there has been no official statement from BGC regarding the future site of The Fort Strip or when the establishment will re-open.
It can be recalled that Nectar, an LGBTQIA+ entertainment center in BGC, also announced their closure by the start of 2025.
