Social media users weigh in on act of fan gifting a puppy to BINI Aiah

BINI member Aiah received a puppy as a gift from a fan, but some Blooms are unhappy about it, and there appears to be miscommunication behind the scenes.

For context, during an event for a well-known makeup brand, Aiah was approached by a fan who brought a dog to give her as a gift, since she had previously expressed a desire to get a dog someday.

@shekinahbp Thank you so much for accepting our lovely gift @Bini Aiah Arceta ❤️ #biniaiah #BINI #BINIph #fy #fypシ #fyp #blooms ♬ original sound – Shekinah

According to the fan, who turned her account private, she reportedly expressed her intention to Aiah and the management beforehand. And with the management’s approval for her to go near the BINI member, she gave the puppy.

I thought since in-allow ako kay Aiah para ipakita ‘yung puppy ay okay na. [I thought that since I was allowed to show the puppy to Aiah, it was okay,]” she wrote.

She then proceeded to apologize, saying, “I would like to apologize to everyone. A [Aiah] was surprised and it summarizes that she is not fully aware.”

While many appreciated the gesture, many fans were displeased with the way the fan who gave the puppy acted and took to social media to express their thoughts.

The pioneer Philippine fanbase for BINI, BLOOM Philippines, called to the public to request to stop giving “live gifts” to the girls.

One user wrote, “Not properly communicated, walang consent and all, so A was given a responsibility on the spot. Sa mga nag tatanggol sa nagbigay nung live pet kay A pls enlighten ur mind about this matter [Not properly communicated, no consent and all, so A was given a responsibility on the spot. For those who are defending who gave the live pet to A pls enlighten your mind about this matter].”

Another user wrote, “The girls are so busy tapos binigyan nyo pa ng responsibility. Ang pagkakaroon ng pet dapat handa physically and mentally. Lalo na pag dogs. Pag tinanggihan nmn kasi mas mababash siya. Sana kinausap niyo muna yung tao [The girls are so busy and then you’re giving them a responsibility. Having a pet should be prepared physically and mentally. Especially with dogs. When it gets rejected, she would get bashed. You should have talked to the person first. ] And pls pets are not gifts. Let people adopt when they’re ready.”

A third user wrote, “Please wag [don’t] inormalize mag gift ng pet, please. Responsibility iyan [That’s a responsibility]. If gusto ng girls mag alaga, hayaan niyo sila bumili or what kasi again, hindi yan madali. Mas alam nila yung perfect timing para bumili&mag alaga and kung kelan yung time na ready na sila sa responsibility na yun [If the girls want to take care, let them buy themselves or what because again, it’s not easy. They know the perfect timing for them to buy and take care and when is the time they are ready for that responsibility].”

While some may be disappointed with her actions, several people defended the OP emphasizing to stop gathering any more hate towards the person involved.

This raises the question: Should gifting live animals be prohibited? Balancing thoughtful gestures with respect for boundaries and the well-being of both the recipient and the animal is crucial. After all, it ultimately comes down to consent and accepting the responsibility.
