Stores closing their doors in the Philippines this 2024

It’s no secret that saying goodbye to meaningful things is difficult. Some places and shops evoke nostalgia and memories, often sparking great conversations. Unfortunately, several stores will be closing their doors this year.

Here is a list of stores that have announced their closures.

Timberland

Timberland

After 16 years, Timberland is officially saying goodbye here in the country. The footwear brand took to their social media page to reflect on their journey. “Reflecting on these years, we are extremely proud of what we have built. From reintroducing Timberland to the local market to rebuilding the brand, every milestone was made possible by the support of our team, partners, and customers.

With its outstanding quality and durability, Timberland is regarded as one of the most well-known shoe brands/stores worldwide. The company’s “Yellow Boots”, which are today considered as iconic in the fashion industry, are its most well-known model. They are currently running a Buy 1 Get 1 promo on all items and a sale up 70% off on selected items running until September 30.

Corner Tree Cafe

Famous vegetarian food spot Corner Tree Cafe announced the store’s closure last July 11. “Farewell to all our beloved customers of Jupiter Street. We will be closing our doors on September 30, 2024,” they wrote on their Facebook page.

The restaurant stems its origins back in May 25, 2009 when they first opened at a tiny spot next to a large Narra tree in Jupiter Street, Makati offering vegetarian food. While they will be closing their doors permanently at the end of the month, do not fret as they will still be continuing operations from their cloud kitchen in Poblacion for take out and delivery.

In a decade of sharing meals with customers, they are now bidding their farewell. Greg & Sally Tree Garden Cafe is closing its doors by September 2. They stated that, “Over the past ten years, we’ve had the privilege of watching families grow, love blossom, and countless celebrations take place amidst the natural beauty of our garden. Your support, loyalty, and shared joy have been the cornerstone of our success and the source of countless cherished memories.”

The Greg & Sally Tree Garden Cafe is a popular place in Marikina for those looking to savor reasonably priced cuisine in the tranquil setting of a large garden.

Metronome

Metronome

Metronome announced that they would shut down their operations last July 22. “It is with deep regret that we announce the permanent closure of Metronome as a business.”

“It was a fun five years and we thank everyone for being part of that,” their parting message stated.

Metronome is a modern French restaurant located in Legazpi Village, Makati City, that is well-known for its wide variety of foods in their menu. Since it first opened in 2019, there has been a lot of excitement surrounding it.
