June 13th, 2017 – Singapore – Secret Signals is very excited to announce that we have been appointed as regional publicist for New Zealand electro-pop princess, Theia. As appointed regional publicist, Secret Signals will take on all press, marketing and radio and video servicing responsibilities in Asia.
Theia (Em-Haley Walker) burst onto the music scene in 2016 with her break-out smash hit “Roam”, clocking more than 7.9 million plays on Spotify to date and charted on the Spotify Global Viral Chart in the US, Australia, Malaysia and New Zealand. Produced by Josh Fountain and recorded at Golden Age studio in Auckland (the same studio where Lorde made the Pure Heroine album), the electro-pop anthem dominated the airwaves in New Zealand, holding #1 spot for seven consecutive weeks. “I had back-to-back trips away writing in studios. One week in Sydney, the next in Auckland. Living out of hotel rooms, walking back at dark under the city lights, feeling like a gypsy and lonely,” she says. “My emotions – like the tides – would be continually up and down. I realised I had to get to the place where I was so at peace and strong in myself that it didn’t matter where I was, or the circumstances, I was at home. Hence the lyric – ‘everywhere I roam is home’.”
After being invited to perform a showcase at the prestigious MUSEXPO in Los Angeles, the Christchurch-born singer make her most significant statement yet – her debut EP, due out on June 30, simply titled ‘THEIA’. The six-track record captures a young artist at a career-defining moment in time and establishes Theia – who takes her name from the Greek Goddess of light – as a rare talent with a bright future ahead of her.
