The singer expressed her thoughts about the expectations that fans have of her and the false sense of familiarity that being famous in the digital age has produced for her music fans in a series of TikTok posts that she made earlier.

“I need you to answer questions, just answer my questions for a second: If you saw a random woman on the street, would you yell at her from your car window? Would you harass her in public? Would you go up to a random lady and say, ‘Can I take a photo with you?’ and she says ‘No, what the f–k?’ and then you get mad at this random lady?,”she stated.

Subsequently, Roan responded more sharply to fans who mistreat or follow her or her family and said, “I don’t care that abuse and harassment, stalking, whatever, is a normal thing to do to people who are famous or a little famous, whatever.”

“I don’t care that it’s normal. I don’t care that this crazy type of behavior comes along with the job, the career field I’ve chosen. That doesn’t make it OK, that doesn’t make it normal. That doesn’t mean that I want it, that doesn’t mean that I like it,” the singer continued.

She then went on to say that she doesn’t care if people call her selfish for saying no to a photo or a time for a hug. The singer stated further that she thinks it is weird and that she should be allowed to say no to creepy behavior.

With her breakthrough performances at Coachella and Lollapalooza last year, Roan has become increasingly well-known.

She has had seven Hot 100 successes in the previous year, and her debut album, which was released in September of last year, has continued to rise along with its tracks, including “Good Luck Babe.”
