RIIZE raises the bar with their first-ever EP, ‘Riizing’

Is the line “That boom ba doom boom boom bass” stuck in your head? Well, that’s just RIIZE’s impact, I guess!

On June 17, 2024, at 6 P.M. KST, RIIZE released its first-ever EP, ‘Riizing,’ on all streaming platforms. The release of this record is part of RIIZE’s jampacked schedule leading up to their fan-con tour ‘Riizing Day’ in Asia.

The EP’s title, ‘Riizing’ is a combination of the boy group’s name—RIIZE and -ing. According to member Sohee the title means, “we are, indeed, rising, and realizing like our group name.”

7 out of the album’s 8 tracks had already been pre-released prior to the EP and its title track, which include ‘Siren’ (2023), ‘Talk Saxy’ (2023), and ‘Love 119’ (2024). The other B-sides (‘9 Days,’ ‘Honestly,’ ‘Impossible’) were released last April 29, 2024.

According to RIIZE themselves in a press conference held on the day of the EP’s release, their newest track is like the continuation of their debut song, ‘Get a Guitar.’ RIIZE’s Wonbin said, “We showed our young vibe back then but this time, we’re back with a more matured side of ourselves.”

The members also talked about their newest track, ‘Boom Boom Bass.’ For member Anton, the track was “all about the energetic vibe.” “We really did have fun while we were recording, I really like the outro where we all sing together, which has the message that RIIZE and BRIIZE (their fans) will both make it big.”

‘Boom Boom Bass’ is described as a “song with funky disco beats and a groovy bass line,” which continues RIIZE’s instrumental concept with ‘Get a Guitar’ and ‘Talk Saxy.’ The lyrics talk about the excitement and thrill of enjoying while playing music.

BRIIZE were thrilled about RIIZE’s first EP and sent all of their congratulatory messages on social media. They also applauded RIIZE’s choreography and styling in their music video.

Others also cheered on how the track ‘Talk Saxy’ remained as OT7. It is known that RIIZE member Seunghan is still on hiatus following a controversy surrounding his pre-debut life.

Congratulations on your first EP, RIIZE! You’ll truly rise up in the industry and realize all your dreams together soon.
