Ariana Grande reportedly set to join South Korean platform Weverse

Ariana sunbaenim?

Ariana Grande, the internationally acclaimed pop sensation, is joining Weverse, the popular fan community platform developed by HYBE Corporation. Announced by Billboard on June 12, 2024, this significant move marks an expansion of Weverse’s reach, traditionally dominated by major K-pop groups and a growing roster of international artists.

Weverse, renowned for its interactive features, offers a unique space for artists to connect directly with their fans, share exclusive content, and build personal connections. Adding Ariana Grande to this platform underscores its commitment to fostering intimate artist-fan relationships across diverse musical genres. Grande’s presence on Weverse will allow her extensive fanbase to engage with her unprecedentedly, enhancing the global reach and influence of both the artist and the platform.

The collaboration between Grande and HYBE America will continue under the leadership of CEO Scooter Braun, reaffirming their long-standing partnership. Despite recent changes in her management, with Brandon Creed of Good World Management now at the helm, Grande’s integration into Weverse is a testament to the enduring professional relationship between Braun and Grande. This move follows Grande’s departure from Braun’s SB Projects in August of the previous year, transitioning to Creed’s management in December.

Grande’s recent success with her album “Eternal Sunshine,” which debuted at No.1 on the Billboard 200, Spotify Global Top Albums Chart, and several other prominent charts, highlights her continued dominance in the music industry. The album’s success further establishes her as a significant addition to Weverse, bringing her dedicated fanbase into the fold of the platform’s vibrant community.

In an official statement to MBW, representatives for both Ariana Grande and HYBE expressed their enthusiasm for the new venture, emphasizing the creative opportunities this partnership will bring. “Ariana Grande and HYBE, led by CEO Scooter Braun, look forward to continuing their long-standing business partnership and pursuing creative opportunities in Weverse and REM Beauty,” the statement read. This collaboration also highlights the strategic alignment between Grande’s artistic endeavors and HYBE’s innovative platform.

Weverse’s expanding artist roster, which includes prominent names like BTS, NewJeans, Blackpink, and Conan Gray, is a testament to its growing influence in the music industry. With the addition of Ariana Grande, the platform continues to bridge the gap between K-pop and international music scenes, creating a global community of superfans.

In an interview with MBW, Weverse boss Joon Choi revealed extensive plans to expand the platform’s artist roster, aiming to include both established superstars and promising rising talents across various regions and genres. This ambitious vision is further supported by Weverse’s partnership with Universal Music Group, enabling a diverse array of artists to engage with their fans on a deeper level.

Ariana Grande’s debut on Weverse is a pivotal moment for the platform, highlighting its evolution from a K-pop-centric community to a global hub for music enthusiasts. As Grande’s fans eagerly anticipate her interactive content and potential live performances on Weverse, the platform’s role in shaping the future of fan engagement in the digital age becomes increasingly significant.
