Newly leaked Min Hee Jin’s alleged texts mentioning BTS and ‘buying’ of NewJeans intensify feud with HYBE

The issue between two Korean entertainment labels continues, with screenshots of KakaoTalk conversations exchanged between ADOR CEO Min Hee Jin and a man called “Deputy CEO Lee,” obtained by TV Daily. The conversation discusses the ongoing battle regarding management rights between HYBE and ADOR.

In the message, the so-called Deputy CEO Lee mentioned, “You have to use your hands before BTS comes in for the next year” (after the boy group’s mandatory military service) to which Min Hee Jin laughed and expressed her irritation about using media play that she clearly dislike “In the end, I have to use the media. Ugh.”

And because of the mention of the Korean boy group, the issue stirred more attention from ARMY (BTS fandom) and other Korean social media users, accusing ADOR CEO of using the name of BTS for an issue in which they are not involved.

The leaked KakaoTalk exchanges also reveal the plotted plan of Deputy CEO Lee on how they will execute finally claiming their rights towards the management. “In a year, the illusions of the multi-label/American disease/platform IT business, if it’s destined to be X, it’s X, so we’re going to have a hard time, and we’re going to get our freedom,” Deputy CEO Lee said, to which Min Hee Jin agrees.

They also planned their possible “escape” from the problem with HYBE and relied on the power of media play, letting HYBE receive all the backlash from the public after Deputy CEO Lee and Min Hee Jin finally execute their plan. In the conversation, the ADOR CEO recommends to the Deputy CEO that they should just “better do it individually.”

In another leaked conversation, the two talked about buying out the Korean girl group NewJeans, which is formed under ADOR. According to the conversation, Min wanted to buy the girl group for a value of 800 billion won, after computing the future value the group could achieve with potential investors who are interested in investing in NewJeans.

On March 29, 2024, Min Hee Jin posted a “personal memo” for the media, which contained complaints against HYBE and the process of releasing this to the media to continuously undermine the status of the agency followed by the promotion of groups. Min also used the parents of NewJeans members to “expose” HYBE as supposed whistleblowers.
