Usher electrifies the 2024 Super Bowl halftime show, dazzles with special guests

The King of R&B set the Allegiant Stadium on fire with a revolutionary performance.

Prior to Super Bowl LVIII, Usher had been hinting at his halftime show, referring to it as “30 years in the making.” Yet, Usher Raymond IV wasn’t working alone on this momentous occasion. To share the spotlight, he brought several renowned artists, notably Alicia Keys, H.E.R., Ludacris, Lil Jon, will.i.am, and Jermaine Dupri.

Wearing a jacket and slacks adorned with white diamonds, Usher delivered a maximalist tribute to the history of Black performance, Las Vegas, and his hometown of Atlanta. The singer tore through his iconic discography, incorporating roller skaters, flappers, and Cirque du Soleil-esque dancers into his set. With performances on the field with an elevated platform encircled by a marching band spelling out his name, Usher commandeered every space of Allegiant Stadium.

Afterward, with Usher seated on a throne and performing “Caught Up,” Alicia Keys appeared at a crimson piano wearing a glittery red bodysuit. In unison, they delivered their 2004 smash song, “My Boo.”

Of course, fans are quick to react to the legendary performance of the two, throwing love and support for the artists.

With less than 15 minutes, Usher kept things going throughout the Super Bowl halftime show. While he’s performing “U Got It Bad,” iconic H.E.R. unleashes a scorching guitar solo, and the two go on playing “Bad Girls.” Following with the song “OMG,” will.i.am joined him for a lively performance.

The crowd stayed ablaze as Jermaine Dupri, producer of Usher’s best-selling album Confessions, gave an introduction for the titular song. Seizing the opportunity, the artist even tore off his shirt while singing. Yet, Lil Jon then appeared to perform “Turn Down for What.” He closed with “Yeah!”—one of his most well-known songs. Ludacris also joined the concert to rap his part.

Indeed, Usher and Keys are one of the ever-iconic pairs we all wish to see together on stage!
