On December 18, 2023, 26-year-old Malaysian singer Xu Jialing died after being stabbed 8 times by a 44-year-old man. The man, according to reports, stabbed the singer in major body parts, ultimately leading to her demise.
The man was also reported to have stalked the popular Malaysian singer for 2 years before the incident. On the day that it happened, Xu Jialing had apparently promised to meet up and eat with him after incessant demands from the man, possibly in fear of what the man might do if she did not respond to any of his demands. The meal suddenly took a violent turn, with the man suddenly assaulting Xu.
The man brought out a knife and then stabbed Xu to death. The man was also later on said to have attempted to end his life also but failed and has received medical treatment in a hospital. Police found Xu Jialing’s body in the suspect’s car, and later on arrested the man while the latter repeatedly claimed that he was Xu’s boyfriend.
Apart from being a rising star in Malaysia’s entertainment industry, Xu Jialing was all set to become a wife to her partner, 23-year-old Liu Yang. The couple had recently shared their plans to marry to their fans, and the tragic death of Xu Jialing was a shocking blow to all.
On December 19, 2023, Liu Yang took to his social media to express his grief, sorrow, and disbelief over what had happened. Others also expressed their sorrows and condolences to the bereaved family, and others had also aired out their anger towards how celebrities are being treated and how this behavior should be stopped.
