Known for his hit drama series, “What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim,” “Fight for My Way,” “Hwarang,” and “Itaewon Class,” South Korean actor Park Seo Joon is back in Manila for his “fun meeting” and to celebrate the sixth anniversary of IAM Worldwide last October 14, 2023, at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
Earlier that day, Park Seo Joon held an exclusive press conference where he answered questions from the media, including what he misses the most about the Philippines. With a short yet sweet answer, he expressed his anticipation for meeting his fans once again. He also mentioned his desire to visit different tourist spots in the Philippines.
The “fun meet” was filled with Jeomjus (Park Seo Joon’s fans) who surprised the actor with how they eagerly waited for him. In return, Park wowed his fans as he prepared an English greeting which expressed how grateful he was to hold a fan meeting to meet his Filipino fans after almost 4 years.
The venue was filled with laughter and “kilig” as the actor played games. In the segment “Park Your Own Way,” fans decide for him through a survey. Some suggest that the actor should wear sleepwear instead of formal, casual, and sportswear. Regarding what he should do on his day off, some fans proposed that he should spend the day sleeping rather than going out. This suggestion made the actor laugh and say, “You guys want me to wear sleepwear and sleep all day?” Well, maybe the fans want him to have a full day of rest, that’s why.
The ‘fun’ did not stop there, as there were a lot of interactive segments prepared, such as “Let’s SEO Them,” which is like the “Never Have I Ever” version for his fan meet. “SEO and Tell” was also a segment that thrilled the audience as it featured flashed photos of the actor, with him explaining the reasons behind each one.
Lucky fans were able to come up on stage with segments like “Write Seo Joon,” “Park Shoot Joon,” and “I SEO design,” where Park Seo Joon personally designed the shirts and tote bags which was given to four lucky fans who participated. In the “Send Seo Joon” segment, the actor received touching messages from fans who shared how he inspired them, whether in their studies or in life in general.
Ending the fan meet with a Filipino “tradition” aimed at making idols and actors cry, fans prepared a special video for Park. Touched and grateful, the actor said, “First of all, I’m very touched. To really think about it, I don’t think that I’m that great of a person to be able to receive your love but thank you very much for continuously and endlessly showing your love to me. As my responsibility, I’ll try my best to also show my love for my different works, and I’ll always do my best. Thank you.”
