Powerhouse members of renowned South Korean groups came together to perform for their Filipino fans as they headlined the recently concluded ‘K-Magic Live’ concert, which took place at the Mall of Asia Arena last Friday, October 13.
First to fire up the stage was Girls’ Generation’s Hyoyeon, also known as DJ Hyo, who wowed her fans with her show-stopping performances of “Picture,” “Deep,” “Second,” “Dessert,” and “Sober.”
SONEs (SNSD fans) also seized the moment to celebrate Hyo, who had turned 34 on Sept. 22, by singing her a belated happy birthday during the show.
Next to perform was GOT7’s main dancer and lead vocalist Kim Yugyeom, who kicked off his set with a performance of “I Want You Around,” “Take You Down,” and “All About U.”
Yugyeom further delighted Ahgases (GOT7 fans) by serenading them with his unreleased song “Always Ready.” His surprise did not end there; he also showered the crowd with refreshing water splashes while performing “Hard Carry.”
Of course, it wasn’t just the fans who received a water surprise from Yugyeom. The show escalated in excitement when his crew doused him with water while he was performing the “119 (remix).”
GOT7’s maknae made sure to maximize the show and relish his time with his fans, treating them to a medley of his songs, including “Say Nothing,” “All Your Fault,” “LOLO,” “Love The Way,” “Ponytail,” and “Who You (remix).”
Last but definitely not least to unleash his K-pop magic was SHINee’s main dancer, Lee Taemin, who initially graced the show with his electrifying performance of his song “MOVE.”
“What I remember about the Filipino fans is they are so passionate and energetic. So, whenever I came here, their shout was so good [and I was so happy with their passionate cheers]. And after so long, I have come here to perform in front of you, guys. I’m so thankful you’re still passionate,” Taemin told his fans during the show’s ment segment with actress-host Denise Laurel.
Taemin also proved that he is genuinely the “Idol of idols” when he grooved effortlessly to his breathtaking performances of “Criminal” and “IDEA.”
Then, he blessed Shawols’ (SHINee’s fans) ears with his angelic voice as he sang his 2016 hit song “Hypnosis.” Before his last performance, Taemin told his fans that he had been occupied lately with preparations for his forthcoming album, “Guilty,” and expressed how their presence energized him.
Furthermore, he hinted about preparing for an upcoming concert, with details to be announced soon. He then concluded the show with a powerful performance of “Advice.”
