Couple shares ‘final photo’ to document their love in the midst of Hamas attacks

A lot of people who were attending an outdoor music festival close to the Gaza Strip in southern Israel were under attack from Hamas militants last October 7.

More than 260 festival-goers lost their lives in the attack and many of them were taken hostage by militants who descended in paragliders on the festival. The festival took place in Re’im, a rural region close to the Gaza Strip border in southern Israel, and happened alongside a weeklong Jewish holiday of Sukkot observed from September 29 to October 6, 2023.

Amidst the brutal violence, a couple who was hiding in the bushes to escape the chaos took their “final picture.” With the couple lying on the ground, they took a selfie kissing each other.

This story has a happy ending, as they both survived and will cherish their picture forever.”
