The Med Tour: ‘You Belong with Med’ UP HS+PM Soc’s 10th MD Talk

Although stadiums-worth of people may not cheer you on as you embark on your journey through medical school, it will shape you to become an artist in your own right; performing your duties to the beat of your heart for excellence and service. As future medical professionals, taking up the noble cause of serving the underserved and helping those in need requires diligent preparation, unwavering passion, and the determination to see it through. 

After all, you can’t have a concert without a good ensemble to help you succeed, and none other than the UP Health Sciences and Pre-Medical Society (UP HS+PM Society) wants to help you with its 10th Annual MD Talk entitled, “The Med Tour: You Belong With Med!”

The UP HS+PM Society is a university-wide organization based in the University of the Philippines Manila that aims to provide students with opportunities to lead and excel in various fields of the health sciences. Since its inception in 2014, this 10th installment of MD Talk: “The Med Tour: You Belong With Med!” is sure to provide aspiring medical students with the knowledge needed to conquer the med era that awaits them! 

More than that, this 10th Annual MD Talk: “The Med Tour: You Belong With Med!” is the first onsite MD Talk after 3 years with a lineup of 8 esteemed medical schools that can’t wait to talk about what they can uniquely offer for you! Remarkable guest speakers have also come to join the talk as they discuss their stories, experiences, and perspectives as doctors in service of the Filipino people. The event will be held onsite at the UP Manila CAS Little Theater on September 16, 2023, from 9 AM to 4 PM. The guest medical schools joining this year’s MD Talk are: 

  1. De La Salle Medical and Health Sciences Institute – College of Medicine 2. Centro Escolar University School of Medicine 
  2. Far Eastern University – Nicanor Reyes Medical Foundation 
  3. University of the Philippines Manila – College of Medicine 
  4. University of the East Ramon Magsaysay Memorial Medical Center Inc. 6. Our Lady of Fatima University – Valenzuela 
  5. Ateneo School of Medicine and Public Health 
  6. St. Luke’s College of Medicine – William H. Quasha Memorial 

Superstar guest speakers also shine brightly in this year’s MD Talk as distinguished physicians Dr. Winston Tiwaquen a.k.a “Doc Kilimanguru”, an MD and Multi-Award-Winning Educational Content Creator, and Dr. Irene Robredo-Vitas, a fellow of the Philippine Dermatological Society and clinical instructor at the Skin and Cancer Foundation Inc. show you how to be the best future MD you can be!
