‘Lana Prophecy’: Old post of Lana Del Rey resurfaces online, seemingly ‘predicting’ unfortunate events for some artists

An old post by American singer and songwriter Lana Del Rey has resurfaced on the internet after a series of mishaps happened to mainstream artists that the singer mentioned in the post.

Way back in 2020, Del Rey shared in her now-deactivated Instagram account a lengthy post titled “A Question for Culture,” wherein, she spoke out about the people who are saying that her music and lyricism are glamorizing abuse.

She started the post by mentioning several mainstream artists that had number-one songs “about being sexy, wearing no clothes, f*cking, cheating, etc,” wherein, the artists mentioned in chronological order are Doja Cat, Ariana Grande, Camila Cabello, Cardi B, Kehlani, Nicki Minaj, and Beyoncé.

As such, fans of the American singer are quick to notice that the majority of the artists that Del Rey had listed have been experiencing a series of unfortunate events three years after the post has been shared.

From Doja Cat being canceled by her fans for supporting her controversial boyfriend J. Cyrus, to Ariana Grande being called out as a homewrecker after allegedly dating Ethan Slater, to Camila Cabello being caught up in a fake dating rumor with Rauw Alejandro, to Cardi B’s outburst at an audience member who threw a drink at her, to Nicki Minaj’s house getting swatted, to Kehlani breaking her leg at a Beyonce concert, fans are sharing their thoughts on the coincidences. Some are saying that Del Rey has predicted the future and are calling it the “Lana Del Rey Prophecy.”
