8 reasons why GetMusic Indie-Go is a must-watch concert this summer

Have you been bumming around all summer? Gee, we know what it feels like! But no need to worry, we got you covered!

Record label giant, MCA Music Inc. is about to make your summer sizzle on May 20 with GetMusic Indie-Go — the first and perhaps the largest gathering of the latest and some of the best independent artists in the country!

Here are eight reasons why you should not sit this one out!

1. Get to see 10 of your fave indie artists in one concert

Do you dig the smooth and sexy vibe of SUD, JENSEN & THE FLIPS, CONSCIOUS & THE GOODNESS, and MILESEXPERIENCE? Or do you prefer the alternative-rock sound of AUTOTELIC? Perhaps you like SOMEDAYDREAM’s electronic beat or NINNO’s spit-fire rap? Maybe you just adore REESE LANSANGAN or have a crush on SHE’S ONLY SIXTEEN’s band members. Or you are a huge fan of Urbandub’s former vocalist GABBY ALIPE. Whatever the case may be, GetMusic Indie-Go brings together all these artists in one rockin’ night.

2. Bonus performance from an international band

If that’s not enough, Malaysia’s AN HONEST MISTAKE is going to join the festivities as well! Now you’ll be glad to know it is not an honest mistake at all. LOL!

3. Discover upcoming bands from four of the biggest universities in the country

Because MCA Music Inc. also wants to recognize the next big artist, they held an online contest featuring college acts from different colleges and universities. Four winners will be sharing the stage with the best indie artists and they are: STLO from University of The Philippines, PAPAPETA from University of Sto. Tomas, THE COHENS from Ateneo De Manila University, and solo act, MATTY JUNIOSA, from De La Salle University.

4. It will be held at a major concert venue

If you are used to seeing your fave indie bands play at intimate and smaller settings, brace yourself for a wilder and bigger venue that’s perfect for this grand event — the Mall of Asia Arena!

5. One venue with two stages

MCA Music’s Senior Brand Manager, Chris Hermosisima shared during the press conference last May 5, what the setup will be like during the concert. Though he said that they are still working on completing the whole design, one thing is sure: there will be two stages — one for the college acts and the other for the indie bands.

6. Paolo Valenciano and his team will take the lead on creative direction

You can expect that this concert will be like no other. It will be “riddled with special extended, multi-membered band setups, extra horn-section setup and stunning visuals that will mesmerize concertgoers.”

7. It has very affordable ticket prices

With ticket prices at: Php 4,000.00 (VIP Standing), Php 3,200.00 (VIP Seated), Php 2,500.00 (Lower Box), and Php 1,000.00 (Upper Box), you can already watch the concert with a total of 10 main acts, 1 international group, and 4 college acts. That’s definitely worth every single centavo!

8. Loads of surprises for the fans

During the press conference last Friday, some of the artists shared that fans should expect interesting surprises from them. These are some of the things that they don’t normally do when they perform in bars. You’d better be there to find out!
