When we think of owls, we always see them as big-eyed birds that have LOTS of feathers — basically they’re 90% feathers and 10% actual owl. We know them as a symbol of wisdom and mystery as they’re always part of some spooky horror film. Sometimes we challenge ourselves to tilt and rotate our heads the same way they do (but we know we can’t beat them at their own game). We even associate moments of “awkward silence” with owl sounds.
But what we never notice is their legs and how freaking long they are.
In a Reddit post, someone took a picture of what an owl looks like when you expose their legs.
Wow. Such legs. Much long.
The owl clearly looks unamused with the idea of its legs being the subject of this “photoshoot,” and now we can’t unsee how owls actually look like they’re wearing pants all along.
As if this mind-blowing discovery wasn’t interesting enough, people at Reddit also shared some of the crazy facts they know about owls. Like, how “you can see their optic nerve and the back of their eyeball if you look in their ear.”
And when someone asked what a defeathered owl really looks like, they instantly regretted they even asked for it.
