Genshin Impact’s 3.6 version update is about to rain players with rewards left and right

Heads up, Genshin Impact fans! Version 3.6 is about to drop!

Whenever a new version of the renowned game drops, Genshin Impact developer HoYoverse rains players with a multitude of events that’ll allow them to farm and grind for resources for their characters and Primogems—the premium in-game currency that players can use to “wish” on exclusive character and weapon banners.

For Version 3.6, HoYoverse will be introducing a brand-new area to the Sumeru region, which will be found north-east of the Desert of Hadramaveth and will be called the ‘Girdle fo the Sands’. Apart from this, former NPC (and now very much) beloved Dendro characters Baizhu and Kaveh will now become playable characters in the upcoming version’s limited-time character banners.

Baizhu was first seen in Chapter 1, Act 2 of the Archon Quest titled, “Farewell, Archaic Lord”, where he is introduced as the owner of Bubu Pharmacy in Liyue Harbor. He is always seen with the zombie Qiqi, and his pet snake Changsheng. He will be featured as a limited Dendro 5-star character, and will be seen wielding a catalyst.

Kaveh, on the other hand, was recently introduced as a celebrated architect from Sumeru, having built the Palace of Alazarzaray, and as Alhaitham’s roommate. He appeared in Chapter 3, Act 5 of the Archon Quest titled, “Akasha Pulses, the Kalpa Flame Rises”, where he was seen bickering with the Akademiya Scribe. He will be featured as a Dendro 4-star character and will be seen wielding a claymore.

Characters that will be having their re-runs during the first phase Version 3.6 will be Nahida, (the Dendro Archon, 5-star catalyst) and Nilou (5-star Hydro support sword wielder). In the second phase with Baizhu, Ganyu (5-star Cryo DPS bow wielder) will be featured. At the same time, Kaveh will be part of the 4-star characters in the limited character banners.

Version 3.6 will also feature new story content, new monsters and hilichurls, as well as a variety of events. The “main event” of this new version is the “Akademiya Extravaganza”, where players will find themselves as participants in different competitions along with the Six Darshans of the Akademiya and their schools of thought. This will also be the event that’ll offer the most rewards for this version.

Players will be seen interacting with the Six Darshans and their representatives: Layla (Rtawahist), Kaveh (Kshahrewar), Cyno (Spantamad), Faruzan (Haravatat), Tighnari (Amurta), and a sixth one from the Vahumana school that is yet to be revealed.

“Akademiya Extravaganza” will be divided into two main branches: the Interdarshan Championship and the Wisdom Gala. The Interdarshan Championship will see each school of thought competing with one another and will likely be the story part of the event. The Wisdom Gala, will be a mix of six mini-games prepared by the Six Darshans and will be where players can play for more points and rewards.

Here are the 6 mini games prepared by each Darshan:

“Gathering of Stars” (Rtwahist) – this is a puzzle alignment game, where players need to move stars in an instrument to form a constellation.

“Project Connectivity” (Kshahrewar) – this is a game related to architectural designs, and players will need to use as little housing resources as possible to make a path from point A to B.

“Antiquity Hunt” (Vahumana) – this is a game where players will need to find hidden relics across Sumeru, and they will have to clear out enemies and use a few tools.

“Truth’s Steps” (Haravatat) – this is a critical thinking game where players will have to uncover the truth by analyzing details and asking questions.

“Concocted Reaction” (Spantamad) – this is a fighting game where players will have to choose enemy and character buffs to face a group of enemies and beat them within a time limit.

“Mimetic Replication” (Amurta) – this is a game where players will have to control animals to complete objectives and earn ratings.

Genshin Impact’s Version 3.6 will also include other events such as:

Fulminating Sandstorm

This event will see players helping researchers in the Sumeru desert by defeating enemies and using a new tool called the “Wenutslayer Cannon”, which is used to kill Wenuts. Players will have to defeat different enemies such as the usual hilichurls, to get control of the Wenutslayer cannon. Rewards will include Primogems, Weapon ascension materials, Character EXP materials, Mystic Enhancement Ore, and Mora.

Brewing Developments

This event will have players mix and matching team comps, with the chance to use trial characters, to defeat enemies. The big takeaway from this is the presence of brews, which will offer a variety of effects and help in the overall on-field performance of the characters. Each round will focus on different combat mechanics and challenges, and players will be rewarded with Primogems, Talent Level-Up Materials, Character EXP Materials, Mystic Enhancement Ore, and Mora.

The Recollector’s Path

Players will be getting a new pet (gadget) from this event, where they will have to explore the new area in Sumeru and encounter a flying creature called Sorush. Players will have to control this creature across six different trials, and will gain Primogems, Weapon Ascension Materials, Character EXP Materials, Mystic Enhancement Ore, and Mora from participating.

Overflowing Mastery

Of course, the Genshin Impact version update won’t be complete without the Overflowing Mastery event, where drops from specific Domains usually double up to three times a day.

So, that’s the whole rundown on what’s about to happen in Genshin Impact upcoming Version 3.6. Are you ready for the new events? How about the characters, are you pulling for any of them?

(Gel: Baizhu and Kaveh are a need, ty)
