UPLB Development Communicators’ Society Inc., the first and premier academic organization in the UPLB College of Development Communication (CDC), has been continually showcasing excellence in the pursuit of academic excellence and campus leadership since 1972. Serving as a venue for exceptional Development Communication students to harness their minds and skills, further widening the goals while upholding the ideals of Development Communication—Communication for Social Change.
With the theme “GOLDEN HOUR: 50 years of Dedication Camaraderie Service,” UPLB Development Communicators’ Society witnesses its 5 decades of dedication, camaraderie, and service in 2023. UPLB DevComSoc celebrates this monumental milestone through notable events spread all through the months of March and April.
To look back on the organization’s 50 years of legacy and excellence, the opening activity of the Anniversary Week will be this exhibit that will occur on the CDC premises. The exhibit panels feature the history and highlight the 50 years of UPLB Development Communicators’ Society. This will be featured in the hallways of the CDC for public viewing.
The second activity for the Anniversary Week will include a mini-open tambayan wherein there will be food available for everyone. For this day, the organization will also conduct a free photocopy wherein everyone may avail.
The Society will hire one jeepney that will roam around the campus and provide free rides for the students within the University at a specific time on the scheduled activity date.
On the libreng kape, free coffee will be made available to the students the whole day.
The grand open tambayan will welcome various students and visitors across the University to be immersed in the Society’s culture in celebrating the organization’s 50th year. Free food and other performances will be witnessed during the occurrence of the event.
The Alumni Homecoming shall serve as an event in which the Alumni members of the Society will come together to celebrate and reminisce about the experiences they have had with the Society for the last 50 years.
