Indie event production house SYQL Productions presents ‘Fool Moon,’ an April Fools’ themed music and art festival that aims to offer gig-goers an escape from the monotony of real life.
Taking place at 123 Block, Mandaluyong on April 1, ‘Fool Moon’ will celebrate alternative and shoegaze musical acts, visual artists and illustrators, and other local creatives in diverse industries. Fool Moon is also a chance for its gig-goers to express their creativity as they are invited to dress up for the event, taking inspiration from renaissance aesthetics and tarot.
From the local music scene, Fool Moon will feature performances by Blaster and the Celestial Klowns, ena mori, Cheats, One Click Straight, of Mercury, and Flu alongside rising shoegaze acts (formerly Maryknoll) and hazylazy from partner musical collective Elev8 Me L8r.
From the visual art scenes, illustrators HARA (@haranikala), Gianne Encarnacion (@pngianne), Mako Micro-Press (@mako.micropress), Albert Raqueño (@bert_draws), Marian Hukom (@marianieart), and Patt (@pattpiha) are set to sell merchandise at the event proper.
In a first-time collaboration with Encarnacion, photographer Michael Perfecto will also run a portrait booth at the event where gig-goers can have their photograph taken for free under professional lighting and direction by Perfecto. Fool Moon attendees can purchase realtime prints of their portraits during the event proper, but free copies of these portraits will be made available on the SYQL Productions Facebook page post-event.
Fool Moon tickets are now for sale at an early bird price of P500, with an option to avail of an event-exclusive sticker pack for P50. Door prices for the event stand at P600.
SYQL is an independent production house born out of a passion for the local music and art scenes.
This prod house envisions a gig culture that is accessible and collaborative, connecting the diverse Filipino creative scenes regardless of medium, genre, or inspiration.
