The unexpected reunion of the Sexbomb Girls took everyone by surprise. But little did the fans know that the iconic group got something “explosive” on their sleeve.

On February 24, the girl group announced that they are set to make their comeback with a US tour, aptly titled “Sexbomb: USA Explosion 2023.”

In the teaser uploaded on Facebook, Jopay, Sunshine, Mia, Johlan, and Mhyca Bautista dance to Tom Jones’ 1991 song “Sex Bomb,” the track that inspired the girl group’s name.

“Are you guys ready?! See you soon US of A!” exclaims the group before ending the clip with their signature chant, “Get get aw!”

Jopay also took to her account to express her excitement about their upcoming US tour. The OG member wrote: “Ito ang kauna-unahang pasabog ng mga OGs sa US of A. Kaya sa mga kababayan, kaibigan, at pamilya namin sa America, magkita-kita po tayo sa East and West Coast.”

(This is the first surprise of the OGs in the United States of America. To our fellow Filipinos, friends, and families over America, see you soon, East and West Coast.”)

Shortly after the announcement was made, many fans of the girl group were all over the moon about their comeback.

As of this writing, the dates of their US tour are yet to be announced. Yet to be confirmed as well whether Rochelle, Izzy Aragon, and some OG Sexbomb Girls will join the tour.

But still, let’s not lose hope and continue to manifest we’ll be seeing all of the girls together both on the international and local stage!

Formed in 1999 by choreographer Joy Cancio, the Sexbomb Girls first rose to prominence as long-time dancers of the Philippine noontime show Eat Bulaga!. More than just backup dancers for a television show, the Sexbomb Girls became the most iconic girl group in the Philippines as they went on to release albums that spawned hit tracks that people in the early 2000s loved (up to now!), including “Bakit Papa?”, “Di Ko Na Mapipigilan,” “The Spageti Song,” and “Sumayaw, Sumunod.”

The girls also ventured into acting as they starred in their own 2002 film, Bakit Papa?, and numerous shows, including the iconic afternoon drama series Daisy Siete.
