NewJeans are definitely a group to watch out for—their most recent MV already says a lot.
On January 2, 2023 at 6 P.M. KST, ADOR and NewJeans released the girl group’s first single album, “OMG” along with the music video for album’s title track of the same name. The single album consists of two tracks, “OMG”, and their pre-release single, “Ditto”.
“Ditto” was first released on December 19, 2022 and received positive acclaim around the world. The song topped iTunes chart rankings in different parts of the globe and achieved their 1st-ever Perfect All Kill with the track.
Prior to the single album’s official release, it had been announced that NewJeans’ broke their own personal record for stock pre-orders. Their self-titled debut EP had reached about 450,000 stock pre-orders, while their latest album reached 800,000 stock pre-orders.
NewJeans’ newest single, “OMG” is a hip-hop and R&B track with UK Garage and Trap rhythms, composed by Jinsu Park, Ylva Dimberg, and David Dawood and lyrics by Gigim Ylva Dimberg and NewJeans member Hanni.
The music video for the title track stars the NewJeans members as patients in a mental asylum, along with actor Kim Joo Heon and former webtoon writer Lee Mal Nyeon. The MV’s concept once again wowed Bunnies (NewJeans’ fandom) and netizens and baffled them with the exact meaning of the MV.
