Lyrics to new GOT The Beat song ‘Stamp on It’ get lukewarm reception

SM Entertainment’s Girls on Top (GOT) project unit, GOT the Beat, was formally announced last December 29, 2022 to be making their first-ever comeback on January 16, 2023 with their first mini album titled, “Stamp On It”.

Comprised of BoA, Girls’ Generation’s Taeyeon and Hyoyeon, Red Velvet’s Seulgi and Wendy, and AESPA’s Karina and Winter, the mini album’s line-up will have the same members as their first release, “Step Back”.

The title track of the same name, “Stamp On It”, was previewed and performed by GOT the Beat at the “SMTOWN LIVE 2023: SMCU PALACE @KWANGYA” online concert last January 1, 2023. The song retained the same girlboss anthem vibes as their last release, with many of the fans loving it at the first listen.

All of the members of the unit shined and definitely owned the song to its core.

However, one thing about the track made the fans’ reception to it quite “mid”and lukewarm—the lyrics.

Upon reading the lyrics of the song, both K-Netizens and international fans were confused at what the song was trying to point out. What was there to stamp? What do we stamp on what? Huh?

But still, fans still love the song and will still give it a chance so it’s still a win. The song is still a win for the ladies and the gays.

We’re not hating GOT the Beat’s new song, okay? It slaps hard. It’s just that the lyrics don’t—again. But whatever, we love good beats and good music here at POP!.
