Rebelde is back to face-to-face film workshop

For the past two years, Rebelde continued to fulfill its mission of giving immersive and accessible film education through online classes with big-gun mentors such as Pixar director Ronnie Del Carmen, the late Ms. Cherie Gil, Erik Matti, and more. Through these online classes, Rebelde has reached aspiring filmmakers not only here in the Philippines but also abroad.

Now that the country is back to face-to-face set-up again, Rebelde Class is combining online and in-person workshop for its 21st Batch of Rebelde Class for a better global reach of students while retaining the effectivity to learn.

In partnership with Sony Philippines, Rebelde is celebrating its 9th year anniversary by inviting the most decorated screenwriter and National Artist Ricky Lee along with award-winning cinematographer J.A. Tadena as mentors for this batch.

Classes

On Day 1 (September 10, 2022), Masterclass in Storytelling will be conducted, headed by National Artist for Film Ricky Lee, known for his films Himala, Anak, Manila by Night, Brutal, Moral, and a lot more award-winning films. Students will learn the art of storytelling and fundamentals of scriptwriting.

Script-to-Screen Cinematography Masterclass will be the subject on Day 2 (September 11, 2022), with the award-winning Cinematographer J.A. Tadena, known for his films Mano Po 2, Smaller and Smaller Circles, Keka, Gagamboy, Shake, Rattle and Roll 8, and more block-buster films. Through Tadena’s help, enrollees would understand the storytelling through lenses, its transition from script to screen.
