Relate to your MBTI types with the ‘MBTI but Pinoy’ Twitter account

If asking “what’s your zodiac sign?” was a thing, now here comes another one: “what’s your MBTI type?”

And if you’ve been lurking on Twitter for these past few weeks, then you might have seen a brand-new meme/content accounts with the format “____ but pinoy” sprouting about here and there. There’s this one specific one, however, that’s none like the other, and it’s user @mtbibutpinoy.

Now before the boomers and troll accounts come at me for allegedly “creating a new word”, let’s talk about what MBTI means.

Short for “Myers-Briggs Type Indicator”, this is a kind of personality test/questionnaire that allows people to know what their personality types are based on how they see the world, and how they make decisions. The test gives four categories to be assigned: if one’s an introvert or extrovert (I or E), if they use more of their senses or intuition (S or N), if they’re more of a “thinking” person than a “feeling” person (T or F), and if they’re more of a “judging” than a “perceiving” person (J or P). One letter from each category makes up the four-letter result, like “ENFJ”, “ISTP”, “ESFJ”, etc.

Though not technically endorsed in the psychology field, Gen Z-ers still take it and categorize themselves according to their personality type. There are 16 personality types in total each with its own specific title and groups, which are the following:

Analysts: INTJ (Architect), INTP (Logician), ENTJ (Commander), ENTP (Debater)
Diplomats: INFJ (Advocate), INFP (Mediator), ENFJ (Protagonist), ENFP (Campaigner)
Sentinels: ISTJ (Logistician), ISFJ (Defender), ESTJ (Executive), ESFJ (Consul)
Explorers: ISTP (Virtuoso), ISFP (Adventurer), ESTP (Entrepreneur), ESFP (Entertainer)

With this, now we can have a better understanding of why the “MBTI but Pinoy” account blew up. Though if you want to read more about and it try out the test for yourself, try it here.

By combining Filipino memes with the MBTI types, people are able to relate to and differentiate their personality types with humor. Here are some of their most relatable Tweets, maybe you’ll even get to relate once you get to know your personality type more.

What’s your MBTI type? Can you relate to the tweets about your personality type on the MBTI but Pinoy account?
