The Hammingtons explore Filipino culture in Juanderland for their first fan meet

Stars of Korean reality shows The Return of Superman and The WillBen Show, The Hammingtons amused fans as they experienced Filipino culture for the first time during their fan meeting in Manila held on July 17 at the New Frontier Theater. Sam, the head of the family, also revealed upcoming content in collaboration with a well-loved fourth-gen boy group this July on their YouTube channel.

In the event introduction of The Hammingtons in Juanderland, the trio composed of Sam, William, and Bentley greeted the fans with an energetic entrance. First called on the stage, Sam instantly took the opportunity to thank the fans for their support. “We love you, Philippines!” he said. William then graced the fans with a lively “Hello!” followed by Bentley’s adorable “Hello, everybody!” which fueled the event with a zestful start.

During the first segment called “Kumustahan”, the host asked catching-up questions about how the family has been doing. When asked about what made them decide to go to the Philippines, Sam gave a heartfelt answer that made the fans’ hearts melt. “Filipinos have shown us love ever since the beginning… through the good times and the bad times, and it’s a perfect opportunity for us to give some love back,” he said.

The three then played the Filipino-favorite newspaper dance game and were joined by two lucky fans from the audience. Sam paired with Bentley while William with the chosen fan. The latter pair won the first game at the first fold, which saddened the younger boy, and the fans went “aww” as it exposed the kid’s usual-child attitude that they had loved for the longest time.

After a short break, the three returned to the stage wearing the traditional Filipino clothes they received during the first segment, a barong for Sam and camesa de chino for the two kids.

In the next segment, called “Salo Salo with the Hammingtons,” the trio tried various Filipino delicacies, including champorado, banana cue, lechon, and adobo. Sam and William both described the adobo food as their favorite; the latter even adorably shouted “amazing!” when he first tasted it.

Moving on with the “Tuklasin” (discover) segment, the trio was challenged to pronounce common Filipino words. All three of them flawlessly uttered, “pogi ako” (I’m handsome) along with the iconic pogi pose, which made the fans shout in enjoyment.

Sam then shared news about the favorite trio’s future plans that excited the fans. According to him, they would focus on creating content for their YouTube channel. He also shared that the two kids will now go to school, William in elementary and Bentley in kindergarten.

After William and Bentley played the last game, “Shopping with Willbengers”, where they shopped for snacks at a “Kiddie Treats” store resembling a sari-sari store, the trio surprised the audience with exclusive gifts. They gave cute green beanies to selected fans that, Sam said, “you cannot get anywhere in the world.”

As he sent his last message, Sam could not help but become emotional in front of the fans. While in tears, he said, “Thank you to each and every one of you.” The fans felt his sincere gratitude and chose to cap off the event with a happy note as they cheered the trio with shouts of “We love you, Hammingtons!”

Finally, during the send-off segment exclusive to MVP2 audience, Sam revealed exciting upcoming content with the fourth-gen K-pop boy group Stray Kids. According to him, they would probably do the collab this July on their youtube channel, The WillBen Show.
