K-Pop girl group LUNARSOLAR disbands and parts ways with agency

4-member K-Pop girl group LUNARSOLAR has officially disbanded after less than 2 years, as announced by their agency J Planet Entertainment on May 22, 2022. The statement released by J Planet Entertainment in Korean, English, and Japanese, reads as follows:

“J Planet Entertainment would like to inform that after long discussions with LUNARSOLAR members, we decided to terminate the exclusive artist contract.

Eseo, Taeryeong, Jian, Yuuri decided to part their ways by supporting [each other’s new beginnings]. J Planet Entertainment also wishes the best for each member’s new future going forward.

We would like to express our gratitude to all the fans who have loved and supported LUNARSOLAR until now, and hope you continue to cheer for their new activities to come.

Thank you.”

On May 23, 2022 at 6 P.M. KST, the vocal quartet released their final single, “Do You Wanna Get Down” to wrap up their group activities. Reactions to LUNARSOLAR’s sudden disbandment caused a shock to their fans.

LUNARSOLAR debuted on September 2, 2020 with the single album, “Solar: Flare” and title track, “Oh Ya Ya Ya”. The quartet went on to release two more single albums, “Solar: Rise” and “Christmas is You” in 2021.
