Musicians are working together to raise money for the people of Ukraine, especially the victims of the relentless attack by Russian forces. Ed Sheeran, Camila Cabello, Snow Patrol, and many other musicians are joining a fundraising concert to spread the message of hope and support.
“Concert For Ukraine” is a two-hour benefit that will raise funds for humanitarian aid to the people of Ukraine who have been under attack by Russian forces nearly three weeks ago. In light of this tragedy, singers are uniting to raise funds for the DEC Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal.
The event will be broadcasted on ITV, STV, ITV Hub and the STV Player, in collaboration with the Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC). “Concert For Ukraine” will be held on Tuesday, March 29, at the Resorts World Arena in Birmingham, England. The concert will have singers Ed Sheeran, Camila Cabello, Emeli Sandre, Gregory Porter, Snow Patrol, and many more who have yet to be announced.

ITV, STV and Livewire Pictures joined DEC and media and entertainment group Global to raise funds through musical performances and showing short films to recognize ongoing relief efforts and the difficulties faced by those affected by the dispute.
“Concert For Ukraine” aims to promulgate the message of “hope and support, and most importantly raising funds for the ongoing DEC Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal,” according to a statement.
“My heart is breaking for the people of Ukraine,” Cabello said. “As refugees from Ukraine join millions of other displaced people around the globe, we all have a responsibility. One of the biggest needs is to get funds to organizations who can serve these communities directly, so we’re focusing our efforts on doing that as quickly as we can.”
Viewers can donate money to the DEC Ukrainian Humanitarian Appeal, while all sponsorships and advertising revenue generated from the broadcast – which is expected to raise nearly $4 million – will also be given to the appeal.
Emeli Sandé expressed her sympathy for the victims by saying she would help “every human being forced to flee their home” as well as uniting with those who have been racially discriminated against even with the humanitarian crisis.
“Nobody should be refused access to relief aid and the right to cross the border to safety, and I’m pleased for the chance to support the DEC’s appeal to help all people whose lives have been affected by the conflict,” Sandé said.
The DEC has brought together 15 UK leading charities including British Red Cross, Oxfam UK, and Save the Children UK, who are working for Ukraine at the country’s borders to help refugees.
In the launch of the appeal last March 3rd, it raised £200 million and the latest amount was released on March 17th that includes £25 million from the UK government.
The ITV event will take place days after another fundraising event for Ukraine. “Stars in the House,” a 10-hour telethon, will air on March 26 from 12 noon to 10PM ET. Celebrities who have signed up for the event are Steve Martin, Annette Bening, Billy Porter, Audra Mcdonald, Cynthia Nixon, Kristin Chenoweth, David Hyde Pierce and Rosie Perez.
Through such tragic events, celebrities and singers are extending their hand to help the people in need. These fundraising events aim to support the victims of Ukrainian people who are currently facing the conflict.
