Camilla Cabello shares a lyric preview of her upcoming single ‘Bam Bam’

“Couldn’t ever imagine even having doubts. But not everything works out,” says a relatable line from Camila’s upcoming single that sounds like a tale of ex-lovers.

Prior to the release of her upcoming tropical-tinged pop track ‘Bam Bam’ on March 4, Camila is already making her fans emotional by sharing a sneak peak of the song.

On February 27, the ‘Don’t Go Yet’ singer posted on TikTok and teased a little more of ‘Bam Bam.’ The 33-second-long video shows the lyrics on screen with a clip of her while walking on the street. As of writing, the Tiktok video has garnered 31.5 million views and 1.5 million likes.

“You said you hated the ocean but you’re surfin’ now.” Cabello sings over an acoustic guitar at the beginning of the song.

“I said I’d love you for life, but I just sold our house/ We were kids at the start, I guess we’re grown-ups now/ Couldn’t ever imagine even having doubts/ But… not everything works out.” The verse continues.

“Now I’m out dancing with strangers/ You could be casually dating/ Damn, it’s all changing so fast,” Cabello sings the pre-chorus, which is then followed by some Spanish lyrics.

The pop star first announced the release of her new single on Feb. 21 through an Instagram post. She posted a photo of herself sitting outside a shop with smudged eye make-up and two bottles beside her, appearing to be a concept photo for the song. She then reveals that it features one of her “favorite people and artists ever” – Ed Sheeran, with whom she’s previously collaborated.

While some celebrated the song preview, some couldn’t help but talk about the person to whom the song is being directed. Many are convinced that the song is about the singer’s ex-boyfriend, Shawn Mendes. In November last year, the two announced their split on their official IG accounts, saying that they started their relationship as best friends and would continue to be best friends.

Some even pointed out proof such as Shawn being a man of the ocean who’s into surfing lately and Camila selling her Hollywood Hills home, which many believed she owned during the period of their relationship.

True or not, it’s safe to say that there doesn’t seem to be any hint of bitter feelings. The lyrics in the preview focused more on how everything about them and their relationship changed at a fast pace.

‘Bam Bam’ marks her first single since the couple’s breakup. The single also follows ‘Don’t Go Yet’ and ‘Oh Na Na’ which were released last year; all three songs are believed to be included in her upcoming album ‘Familia.’

Cabello’s fans have been anticipating the release of her next album since last year. But as of now, Camilizers can spend their time waiting for ‘Bam Bam‘ to drop ‘cause this song is surely a bop!
