BIGBANG announces official comeback date with a cryptic poster

After a four-year long hiatus, it’s official! BIGBANG is making their comeback with a new song. The group dropped a teaser of a cryptic poster to anticipate their long-awaited return.

On March 21, the group’s management agency YG Entertainment posted on Instagram and Twitter a black polaroid picture with the words “BIGBANG 0AM APR 05 2022” written on it. The cryptic message doesn’t reveal much but it is expected that they will be returning with a brand new song on April 5.

“BIGBANG will be releasing a new song this spring. [BIGBANG] has already completed recording their new song, and they are currently preparing to shoot the music video,” the music company confirmed earlier in February.

BIGBANG fans (called VIPs) are overjoyed and excited for what the group awaited them. VIPs and other Korean idols also expressed their support for the group, excited for their return after a four-year hiatus.

BIGBANG’s last release was in March 2018 when they dropped the song “Flower Road.”

The group has also been in headlines since the first announcement of their comeback in February. Following the news, it is also disclosed that rapper T.O.P, real name Choi Seing-hyun, is ending his 16-year exclusive contract with YG Entertainment. While this is sad news for fans, the label reassures that it isn’t the end for T.O.P and the band. “As long as the conditions are right, [T.O.P] will always participate in BIGBANG’s activities wherever he is able,” the management said.
