Manila–Mixed martial arts (MMA) fans are in for a treat when UFC® returns to Manila on October 15 at the Mall of Asia Arena for UFC FIGHT NIGHT® Manila: LAMAS vs PENN, headlined by a five-round featherweight bout between UFC Hall of Famer BJ “The Prodigy” Penn and No. 4ranked Ricardo “The Bully” Lamas.

For the second time in two years, the world’s premier MMA organization will be returning to the Philippines, featuring an exciting 12 bout fight card comprised of legends, contenders and prospects from around the world, including America, Poland, China, Japan, Guam, South Korea, Canada, Russia, Denmark and of course, the Philippines.

UFC has also announced a number of special guest fighters who will be flying in early to meet fans and watch the highly-anticipated event. They will include UFC event ambassador Mark “The Filipino Wrecking Machine” Munoz (14-6-0), UFC Hall of Famer and former UFC light heavyweight champion Chuck “The Iceman” Liddell (21-8-0), former UFC lightweight champion and No. 6ranked UFC featherweight contender Anthony “Showtime” Pettis (19-5-0), No. 3ranked UFC heavyweight contender Alistair “The Reem” Overeem (41-15-0) and No. 8 ranked UFC lightweight contender Michael “Maverick” Chiesa (14-2-0). In lead up to the exciting night of fights, Munoz, Liddell, Pettis, Overeem and Chiesa will be arriving during the UFC’s official Fight Week (October 10-15) to take part in a series of fan and media activities including:

UFC FIGHT NIGHT® Manila: LAMAS vs PENN will also include the first-ever UFC heavyweight fight in Manila when No. 10ranked contender Derrick “The Black Beast” Lewis takes on Marcin “Tybur” Tybura in the explosive co-main event. Also featured on the card is a UFC Women’s straw weight bout between up-and-comer Danielle “Dynamite” Taylor battling veteran Seo Hee Ham in the first-ever UFC Women’s bout in Manila, plus the Octagon® debut for Filipino prized fighter Jenel “The Demolition Man” Lausa who faces China’s Yao Zhikui.

For the first time the UFC are bringing their fan village to Manila in the run up to UFC FIGHT NIGHT® MANILA: LAMAS vs PENN. The interactive activities will include life-size fighter face-off with our main event, shout-out corner, wingspan wall, a UFC Reebok Fitness Challenge and more. The fan village will make its first stop at The Block, SM City North EDSA from the 7th to 9th October and will then move on to the Music Hall at SM Mall of Asia from the 10th October to the 14th. During Fight Week at Music Hall, the first 100 fans to register daily will receive a limited UFC gift. Expect to see special activities by UFC sponsors, Harley-Davidson Asia Pacific, Smart Bro, Monster Energy, Reebok Philippines and Phoenix Petroleum.
